Net-Zero Energy Townhomes Coming to Downtown Scottdsale
MODUS Icon is launching Arizona’s first Net-Zero Energy townhomes, “MZ” in downtown Scottsdale on Friday, Oct. 17.
With a proximity to downtown restaurants, art galleries, nightclubs, spas, and shopping districts, MODUS Icon officials contend the multifamily housing development is a cut-above other options available in Scottsdale.
The new townhomes are at 7301 E. Minnezona Ave.
“We are dedicated to developing a niche for prime properties offering a contemporary design, luxury accommodations, energy sustaining technology, and sophisticated styling while defining urban living,” said Ed Gorman, president of MODUS Development, in a prepared statement.
These residences combine energy efficiency, innovative building materials, renewable resources, and green technologies to set a new standard for smart homes, according to a press release.
Residents will have the ability to reduce energy consumption, increase savings and minimize their carbon footprint using their preferred mobile devices, the release states.
MODUS Icon hired architect, Hector Fimbres of Fimbres Studios, to design the modern energy-conscious homes reflecting tech-savvy and eco-friendly lifestyles and incorporate its innovative features and unique style.
MZ is a sleek, sustainable development that encompasses eight 925- to 1,300-square-foot lofts offering downtown style living right in the mecca of Scottsdale, the release states.
Designed to have zero energy bills on an annual basis, the homes boast energy-saving features including spray foam insulation, Low-E windows, high-efficiency heat pumps, hybrid hot water heaters and Energy Star appliances.
Photovoltaic solar panels produce the energy required to power the homes, officials say.
MZ is a joint venture between Phoenix-based developer, MODUS Development, and San Diego developer, Icon Properties.
